PACIFIC churches have reaffirmed their commitment to the West Papuan struggle.
In a meeting with United West Papua Liberation Movement leader, Benny Wenda, the PCC expressed its solidarity and continued objection to human rights abuse by Indonesia. The commitment was made during Wenda’s visit in July on the periphery of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.
Wenda thanked the PCC for its commitment and continued global advocacy on behalf of Papua. PCC representative, Netani Rika, reflected on the organisation’s 60 year link with Papua and its churches.
